The funicular to Hrebienok is literally a five-minute walk, which means you can be hiking serious mountain trails or hitting the slopes without any fuss. What most people don’t realize is that you’re also perfectly positioned for those early morning shots of Gerlachovský štít when the light hits just right.

The Room Experience

My room had that mountain lodge feel but with all the modern touches you actually need — fast WiFi, proper heating controls, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re roughing it. The balcony view varies depending on which side you’re on, but even the “lesser” views include those rolling Tatra foothills that look pretty spectacular with morning coffee. I mean, the beds are genuinely comfortable, which isn’t always a given in mountain hotels.
