Royal Village Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Royal Village in Malý Slavkov — it’s one of those places that’s quietly tucked away in Slovakia’s eastern hills. But the moment you see this four-star property, you realize it’s something special. The architecture has this refined mountain lodge feel, all warm wood and stone, sitting perfectly against the backdrop of the High Tatras.
The Setting
What struck me most was how they’ve positioned this place right on Golfová street — and yes, there’s actually a golf course right there. You know what’s brilliant about Malý Slavkov? It’s close enough to the action (Poprad is just a quick drive) but far enough out that you feel like you’ve escaped somewhere properly peaceful. The air up here is different — cleaner, sharper, especially in the mornings when mist hangs over the surrounding forests.
The Room Experience
My room was one of those pleasant surprises that makes you immediately relax. Not overly fancy, but everything felt thoughtfully chosen — good quality linens, solid wooden furniture, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that’s becoming). The bathroom was modern without being sterile, and I appreciated the little touches like decent toiletries and proper water pressure in the shower.
Dining and Atmosphere
The restaurant here deserves mention because it’s clearly where they put real effort. The menu leans heavily into Slovak specialties, but done well — not just tourist versions of traditional dishes. I had this incredible venison goulash that tasted like someone’s grandmother had been perfecting the recipe for decades. The dining room overlooks the golf course, and honestly, even if you don’t play, it’s a pretty serene view while you’re having breakfast.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Royal Village — it gets the balance right between being polished enough to feel special and relaxed enough to actually unwind. The staff seem to genuinely know the area, not just the scripted recommendations. When I asked about hiking trails, the receptionist pulled out an actual hand-drawn map with notes about which paths had the best views. With that 9.1 rating, you can tell other travelers have figured out what I did: this isn’t just a place to sleep, it’s a proper base for exploring this gorgeous part of Slovakia without sacrificing comfort.

Guest Reviews
The view to the hills were very nice. It is pet friendly. Our dog liked the big/endless yard. What could be improved: The bedrooms are quite small. I was afraid of that the host did not reply to my question for 2 days but OK, it was during...
everything was just perfect, everything was modern, the surroundings were fantastic, the view was worth a million
Wonderful view
Very clean, the house looked like it was never stayed in
Quiet
Well definitely come back!
Very clean and nice atmosphere
What could be improved: If they could provide Check in and check out information in advance it would be great
Die Lange
What could be improved: Zu eng und schlechte Stühle.
What could be improved: Cena je vysoká, neviete, ktorý domček si rezervujete - je na výber 5 pri sebe stojacich domov a platíte za výhľad na Tatry - to bolo...
Вид - это что-то сказанное . Отзывчивый персонал ( разрешили заехать в номер ранее положенного времени ) , все спокойно объясняют( английский, польский).
