The cable car to Chleb mountain is maybe a ten-minute drive, and the hiking trails… well, they’re absolutely incredible if you’re into that sort of thing.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was simple but thoughtfully arranged — clean lines, wooden furniture that actually looks like it belongs here, not some mass-produced stuff. The windows frame the surrounding peaks beautifully, and there’s something really satisfying about waking up to that view every morning. The bathroom was spotless (which matters more than people admit), and the heating worked perfectly — important when you’re in the mountains and temperatures can drop unexpectedly.

Their bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese) is probably the best I’ve had outside of someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. Breakfast is hearty and straightforward — fresh bread, local cheeses, and strong coffee that’ll wake you up properly. The staff genuinely knows the area well, and they’re happy to point you toward lesser-known hiking trails or explain which peaks you’re looking at from your window.
