My room was surprisingly spacious, with locally sourced wooden furniture that didn’t feel forced or overly rustic. The lighting is soft and warm, probably LED but designed to feel natural. You know what impressed me most? The little touches — bamboo toothbrushes in the bathroom, refillable soap dispensers, and windows that actually open wide (rare these days). The bed was comfortable enough that I slept through the night without thinking about it, which is my personal test for any hotel.
Location & Getting Around
Deva isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot, but that’s part of the charm here. The hotel sits in a quiet residential area, maybe a 10-minute walk from the city center and that famous Deva Citadel perched on the volcanic hill. There’s decent parking right at the hotel, which matters if you’re driving through Hunedoara County. I actually enjoyed the peaceful evenings — no traffic noise, just the occasional dog barking in the distance.
Dining & Facilities
The on-site restaurant focuses on regional Romanian dishes with ingredients sourced from local farms. I had this incredible ciorbă de burtă that tasted like someone’s grandmother made it — in the best possible way. Breakfast was simple but fresh: local cheeses, homemade jams, and bread that was actually baked that morning. They also have a small wellness area with a sauna that I used after a long day exploring the Retezat Mountains nearby.

Beautiful view.
Clean, cosy, comfortable. Perfect room. The house is outside Deva on some hills. The view is extraordinary. Easy to get there. You have a parking space, too. Very good coffee on the premises.
