You know what’s great about staying in Novoť? It’s far enough from the tourist crowds but close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you’re tucked into the High Tatras region, so hiking trails are literally on your doorstep. The village itself is tiny — you can walk from one end to the other in about ten minutes — but that’s part of its charm. If you need supplies or a bigger meal selection, Poprad is only about 20 minutes by car.

The Room Experience

My room was simple but thoughtfully arranged, which I appreciated after some of the cramped spaces I’ve stayed in recently. The wooden furnishings give it that authentic mountain cabin vibe without feeling outdated. What I loved most was how quiet it was at night — no traffic noise, just the occasional sound of wind through the trees. The bathroom was compact but clean, and the shower had proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in smaller properties).

Dining & Local Flavor

The restaurant downstairs serves traditional Slovak dishes that actually taste homemade rather than reheated. I had their goulash one evening, and it reminded me why I love staying at family-run places like this. The portions are generous — probably too generous if you’re planning an early morning hike — and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. They also know their local wines, which was a pleasant surprise for a three-star property.

With a 9.2 rating, Chata Anna clearly does something right, and I think it comes down to authenticity. This isn’t trying to be a resort or compete with the big hotels in Poprad. Instead, it’s a genuine mountain retreat where you can decompress without breaking the bank. The staff treats you like a neighbor rather than just another booking number, and there’s reliable parking right outside — which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling hiking gear.
