Honestly, when I first pulled up to Jazierce in the quiet village of Biely Potok, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name itself means “little lakes” in Slovak, which gives you a hint about the setting — and trust me, it delivers on that promise. This four-star place sits tucked away from the main tourist routes, about 15 minutes from Ružomberok, and that’s actually part of its charm.

Here, you’re surrounded by rolling hills and those small ponds that give the hotel its name, with the Low Tatras mountains creating this dramatic backdrop. The hiking trails start practically at the hotel’s back door, and there’s decent parking if you’re planning day trips to the Tatras or even Bojnice Castle.
