My room was spacious in that Slovak mountain way — clean lines, solid wood furniture, and windows that actually frame the surrounding peaks nicely. There’s a practical kitchenette setup that’s genuinely useful if you pick up local cheese and bread from the village, which I’d recommend doing. The beds are firm (Slovak style, you’ll get used to it) and the heating works well, which matters more than you’d think when you’re up in the mountains during shoulder season.

The family running this place knows the area inside and out, and they’re the type who’ll actually sit down and map out hiking routes for you rather than just hand you a generic brochure. There’s parking right on-site, which is honestly a relief when you’re dealing with narrow mountain roads and trying to figure out where to leave your car.
