When I first spotted Zoriana on Nezalezhnosti Street in Tatariv, I’ll be honest — it wasn’t what I expected from the photos. This unique boutique hotel sits quietly along the main road, and you might actually drive past it if you’re not paying attention. But that’s sort of the point, I think. The building has this understated charm that feels more like someone’s well-appointed home than a commercial hotel.

Location & Getting Around

Tatariv is one of those mountain towns that locals know but tourists are just discovering, tucked away in the Carpathians about 30 minutes from Yaremche. The hotel’s position on Nezalezhnosti Street means you’re walking distance to the few local spots worth visiting — there’s a decent restaurant just down the road that does incredible borscht. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re technically on the main street. The mountains just seem to swallow up any noise.

The Space Itself

Each room at Zoriana feels distinctly different, which is refreshing when so many places go for cookie-cutter consistency. Mine had these gorgeous wooden beams and locally-made textiles that actually felt authentic rather than staged. The bathroom was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how some boutique places sacrifice function for style? Not here. Everything worked perfectly, from the hot water pressure to the lighting.

Here’s what struck me most about staying here: the owners clearly live and breathe this place. You’ll see them around, not hovering but genuinely caring about whether you’re comfortable. They know which hiking trails are worth your time and which local drivers won’t overcharge you for rides to Bukovel. The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it’s made with ingredients from nearby farms — I mean, the eggs were probably collected that morning. There’s also parking right on the property, which might not sound exciting but trust me, you’ll appreciate it after navigating those mountain roads.
