My room was surprisingly spacious for a smaller property, with traditional wooden furniture that actually felt authentic rather than touristy. The beds are properly comfortable — none of that rock-hard nonsense you sometimes get in budget places. What I really appreciated was the attention to cleanliness and the little touches, like locally-sourced honey left on the bedside table and fresh flowers from their garden.

The on-site restaurant serves up proper Slovak home cooking, and I mean that in the best possible way. The goulash here is exceptional — rich, hearty, and nothing like what you’ll find in tourist traps. They source most ingredients locally, which means the flavors change with the seasons. The owners, who speak decent English mixed with enthusiastic gestures, are genuinely proud of their regional specialties and happy to explain what goes into each dish.
