The staff seems to genuinely know the area — when I asked about hiking trails, the receptionist pulled out a hand-drawn map with notes about which routes get muddy after rain.

Vila Terra works because it feels authentic to its setting without trying too hard. You’re not getting flashy amenities or over-the-top service, but you are getting a genuinely comfortable stay in a town that most international visitors haven’t discovered yet.
