But stepping inside this four-star gem completely changed my perspective — there’s something genuinely warm about the place that hits you immediately. The staff greeted me like I was a friend they hadn’t seen in ages, and that 9.7 rating suddenly made perfect sense.
Location & Mountain Charm
You know what’s brilliant about Buşteni? It’s got this perfect sweet spot thing going on — close enough to Braşov for day trips, but far enough into the Carpathians that you wake up to actual mountain views. VILA NORBE sits right in the heart of it all, and I mean that literally. You can walk to the cable car station for Omu Peak in about ten minutes, which honestly saved me so much hassle with parking and timing.
The Accommodation
My room was this lovely mix of traditional Romanian touches and modern comfort — think hand-carved wooden furniture paired with a bathroom that actually had decent water pressure. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the mountain view from my window made those early morning wake-ups totally worth it. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail — fresh flowers, local artwork, and a little welcome basket with regional treats.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The on-site restaurant became my go-to spot pretty quickly, and not just because I’m lazy about finding dinner after long hikes. They do this incredible thing with local ingredients — the ciorbă de burtă was honestly better than what I had in Bucharest, and their mici paired with a local Fetească Neagră wine made for perfect evenings. Breakfast was hearty mountain fare that actually fueled my adventures instead of leaving me hungry an hour later.

The owners clearly live and breathe hospitality, and they know their area inside out.
