Sheshory isn’t your typical tourist trap, and that’s exactly why it works. This little village sits perfectly between the hustle of Yaremche and the wilderness of the Carpathians, giving you the best of both worlds. I mean, you’re literally on Shevchenko Street — every Ukrainian town has one — but here it actually feels meaningful, surrounded by these rolling green hills. The locals still wave when you walk by, which honestly made my day more than once.

The Accommodation

My room was simple but genuinely comfortable, with wooden furniture that looked handcrafted rather than mass-produced. The windows opened wide to let in that crisp mountain air — you’ll want to keep them open all night, trust me. What impressed me most was how clean everything was, and the traditional Ukrainian touches like the woven textiles didn’t feel touristy or forced.

Dining & Local Flavors

The on-site restaurant serves up proper Hutsul cuisine, and I’m talking about the real deal here. Their banosh (cornmeal with cheese and sour cream) was probably the best I had during my entire Carpathian trip. The portions are generous — actually, generous might be an understatement — and the prices are refreshingly reasonable for what you get. They source a lot of ingredients locally, which you can definitely taste.
