Royal Village – Royal Views apartments

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Royal Village – Royal Views apartments in Malý Slavkov, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from this quiet Slovak village. But this four-star property completely changed my perspective on what a mountain getaway could be. The building sits right on Golfová street with these expansive windows that immediately hint at the views you’re about to experience inside.

The Apartment Experience

These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — each apartment feels like you’re staying in someone’s carefully designed mountain retreat. The space I stayed in had this open-plan layout with a fully equipped kitchenette that actually made me want to cook (and I’m not much of a cook, honestly). What really got me was stepping onto the balcony for the first time — you get these sweeping views of the High Tatras that honestly make you forget you’re still technically in Slovakia and not somewhere in the Swiss Alps.

Location & Getting Around

Malý Slavkov isn’t exactly a household name, but that’s sort of the point. You’re about 20 minutes from Kežmarok if you need actual civilization, and the location puts you right in hiking territory without the crowds you’d find around Poprad. There’s decent parking right at the property, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking equipment.

Dining & Local Life

The property doesn’t have its own restaurant, but there’s something refreshing about having that kitchenette to prepare simple meals while taking in those mountain views. When you do want to eat out, the village has a couple of local spots that serve proper Slovak comfort food — think hearty soups and schnitzel that’ll fuel your next mountain adventure. I actually preferred this setup to being locked into hotel dining schedules.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.5 rating, guests clearly appreciate what I experienced — it’s that perfect balance of comfort and authentic mountain atmosphere without feeling overly polished or touristy. The apartments give you space to actually relax rather than just sleep between activities, and those views… well, they never get old, even after several days. You know what really sealed it for me? Waking up to morning light hitting the Tatras peaks right from my bed — that’s not something you forget easily.
