This three-star place has that classic Slovak pension vibe, housed in what looks like a beautifully restored building that fits right into the historic square’s architecture.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. You’re literally steps away from the town’s main square, where locals gather for coffee and tourists snap photos of the colorful baroque buildings. The Clock Tower is right there, and you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in the old town within five minutes. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night — even though you’re in the center, Slovak towns aren’t exactly party central after 10 PM.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but you know what? It had everything I needed. The furniture feels a bit dated, sure, but it’s well-maintained and the bed was actually quite comfortable. The bathroom was compact but modern enough, with decent water pressure (always a concern in older buildings). There’s free Wi-Fi throughout, which worked well for my needs.

Practical Perks

What really won me over was the breakfast situation — they serve it in a cozy little dining area, and while it’s not a huge buffet, the local breads and meats were fresh and filling. The staff speaks English well enough, which isn’t always a given in smaller Slovak towns. There’s also parking available, though you’ll want to ask about it when booking since space can be tight in the old town.

The 8.5 rating makes sense — guests appreciate the prime location, helpful staff, and the fact that everything works as it should. If you’re looking for a spa or fancy amenities, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up in the middle of a charming Slovak town square and have easy access to hiking in the surrounding mountains (the Low Tatras are close by), then this place delivers exactly what it promises.
