This four-star property in Kościelisko isn’t your typical mountain hotel; it’s more like a collection of wooden chalets scattered across the landscape with the Tatras rising dramatically behind them. You know what struck me most? The silence when you step out of your car — just wind through the trees and maybe some distant cowbells.

Location & Mountain Access

The location is pretty clever, actually. You’re close enough to Zakopane’s buzz (about 10 minutes by car) but far enough up the mountain to feel properly removed from it all. The Gubałówka cable car is practically next door, which means you can be on the ridge with those panoramic Tatra views in minutes. I mean, most people drive up from the valley just for that cable car ride — here you’re already halfway there.

The Accommodations

My room was in one of their wooden buildings, and the whole setup felt more like staying in a mountain lodge than a hotel. The interiors blend traditional highland style with modern touches — think exposed beams, cozy textiles, and thankfully, really good heating for those chilly mountain evenings. The windows frame the meadow and forest perfectly, and there’s something satisfying about watching the mist roll across the hills while you’re having your morning coffee.

The restaurant focuses on regional Polish cuisine, and they do it well; I had some of the best oscypek cheese I’ve tried (and trust me, you eat a lot of it around here). The staff seems to genuinely know the area — they pointed me toward some lesser-known hiking trails that turned out to be highlights of my stay.
