When I first pulled up to these wooden chalets, I was struck by how they blend so naturally into the Slovakian countryside that you almost miss them. The four-star property feels more like stumbling upon a well-kept secret than checking into a traditional hotel.

Location & Setting

You know what’s great about this spot? It’s close enough to the High Tatras that you can actually see the peaks from your window, but far enough from the touristy hustle that you’ll hear birds instead of tour buses. The village itself is pretty small — we’re talking one main road kind of small — but that’s exactly the point. I mean, if you’re looking for nightlife and shopping, this isn’t your place, but if you want to wake up to mountain views and genuinely fresh air, well, you’ve found it.

The Accommodation

Each chalet feels surprisingly spacious, and I loved having a proper room that didn’t feel like a cramped hotel box. The wooden interiors have that cozy cabin vibe without being overly rustic — there’s still modern comfort here. What really impressed me was the attention to detail: good lighting for reading, actually comfortable beds, and windows positioned to maximize those mountain views I mentioned. The bathrooms are clean and modern, which is sometimes a gamble with mountain properties.

Food & Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves hearty Slovak dishes that actually taste homemade rather than mass-produced hotel food. I had some of the best goulash of my trip here, and the staff seemed genuinely proud of their menu rather than just going through the motions. There’s also decent parking right on the property, which sounds boring but trust me — when you’re hauling hiking gear and suitcases, you’ll appreciate not having to trek half a kilometer from your car.
