First Impressions

Hotel Cubix sits on Bulevardul Saturn in a quieter part of Braşov, and honestly, that’s exactly what I was hoping for. The building has this modern, geometric design that somehow doesn’t clash with the surrounding Romanian architecture — it’s actually pretty striking when you first pull up. The lobby feels contemporary without being cold, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see me, not just going through the motions.

The Neighborhood

You’re about a 15-minute walk from the old town center, which I know sounds like a trek, but it’s actually perfect. You get to avoid the tourist crowds while still being close enough to everything that matters. There’s a decent supermarket just down the street, and I noticed several locals grabbing coffee at the little places nearby — always a good sign. The walk into the historic center takes you through some residential streets where you can see how people actually live here.

The Room Experience

My room was on the third floor, and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it felt. The design is clean and minimalist — not boring, just uncluttered in a way that actually helps you relax. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing — you’d never know you’re in a city.

The restaurant downstairs serves both Romanian classics and international dishes, and I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much, but the ciorbă de burtă they make is legitimately good. Breakfast has all the usual suspects plus some local touches like fresh brânză and homemade jams. There’s also a small fitness area and a sauna that’s perfect after a day of exploring the Carpathian foothills. Parking is included, which is a blessing in Braşov where finding a spot can be a real headache.

Why Guests Love It

This four-star place gets the balance right — it’s polished enough to feel like a proper hotel, but it doesn’t have that sterile chain hotel vibe. The location gives you the best of both worlds: close enough to walk to Council Square and the Black Church, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups at 7 AM. I mean, you can actually sleep in if you want to. For the price point and that 8.6 rating, Hotel Cubix delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
