First Impressions

When I first heard about Glamp pod hviezdami, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a glamping spot tucked away in the Slovak countryside. But driving up to Kopanice, this tiny village with barely 1,300 residents, I realized I was in for something completely different. The pods themselves sit on a hillside with nothing but rolling fields stretching toward the horizon — and yeah, you can actually see why they named it “under the stars.”

The Accommodation

Each glamping pod is essentially a cozy bubble that lets you sleep outdoors without, well, actually roughing it. The room inside is surprisingly spacious, with a proper bed and enough headroom that I didn’t feel cramped. What really got me though was lying there at night — the transparent sections of the pod frame the sky perfectly, so you’re basically watching a live planetarium show from your pillow. I mean, when’s the last time you fell asleep counting actual stars instead of scrolling your phone?

Location & Surroundings

Kopanice isn’t exactly a bustling tourist destination, and that’s precisely the point. This village sits in the Trenčín region, surrounded by the kind of quiet countryside that makes you forget about deadlines and traffic jams. You’re about an hour from Trenčín itself if you need civilization, but honestly, the whole appeal here is disconnecting. The nearest restaurant isn’t a two-minute walk away — you’ll want to stock up on supplies or embrace the simple camp cooking setup they provide.

The Experience

What strikes me most about this place is how it strips away all the usual hotel distractions and focuses on something pretty basic — sleeping under an open sky. There’s no spa, no fancy lobby, no room service. Instead, you get this almost meditative experience where the biggest decision of your day might be which direction to walk for your morning coffee. The pods are heated, so even in cooler months you’re comfortable, but you’re still connected to the weather and the natural rhythm of the place.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 rating isn’t accidental — people come here expecting something unique and apparently leave feeling like they got exactly that. It’s not for everyone, sure, but if you’re tired of cookie-cutter hotels and want to try something that feels more like an adventure than accommodation, this works. The silence here is actually noticeable (coming from a city, that took some getting used to), and there’s something oddly satisfying about waking up to nothing but birdsong and maybe a cow or two in the distance. You know what? Sometimes the best travel experiences happen in places you can’t even pronounce correctly.
