This four-star gem is tucked away in Liptovský Trnovec, which is actually perfect if you want to escape the crowds but still have easy access to the High Tatras. What I loved about staying here is that you’re close enough to Liptovský Mikuláš for supplies and restaurants, but far enough out that you feel like you’re in your own private corner of Slovakia. The surrounding area is honestly a hiker’s paradise — trails literally start from the village, and the reservoir is perfect for those who want to try paddleboarding or just float around on a lazy afternoon.

The Accommodation

My room was in one of their traditional wooden cottages, and the attention to detail really impressed me. Everything felt authentically Slovak but with modern touches that actually work — good WiFi, proper heating, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re roughing it. The wooden interiors have this cozy, cabin-like atmosphere that makes you want to curl up with a book, especially when it’s raining outside (which happened during my stay, and honestly made it even more charming).
