My room was spacious enough that I didn’t feel like I was living out of a suitcase, which is always appreciated after a long day of exploring the Kysuce region. The wooden accents throughout give it that authentic Slovak mountain feel without being kitschy about it. The on-site restaurant serves traditional Slovak dishes that don’t feel touristy or dumbed down. I had the bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese) and it was honestly better than what I’ve had in Bratislava. The portions are generous too — none of that tiny-plate-huge-price situation you sometimes get at boutique hotels. The staff seems genuinely happy to be there, which always makes a difference in how your evening goes.
