There’s a small grocery store in the village center, and I mean small — grab essentials in the nearest bigger town if you’re planning to stay a few days.

The Accommodation

My room was simple but spotless, with wooden furniture that looked handmade and windows that frame the surrounding countryside perfectly. The beds are comfortable enough, and there’s actually decent Wi-Fi, which surprised me given how remote this feels. Each room has a small seating area where I found myself just watching the light change over the hills — sounds cheesy, but it’s genuinely relaxing.

Dining Experience

The on-site restaurant serves traditional Slovak dishes, and I have to say, the goulash here is something special. The portions are generous — I mean, really generous — and everything tastes homemade. Breakfast includes local cheeses and bread that’s clearly baked fresh each morning. The staff doesn’t speak much English, but they’re incredibly welcoming, and you can usually figure things out with gestures and smiles.

This three-star place isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s exactly why it works. Parking is right outside your door, which is perfect if you’re exploring the region by car. The hiking trails literally start from the property — I stumbled onto a path behind the building that led to this incredible viewpoint about thirty minutes up the hill. It’s the kind of place where you come to disconnect, sleep well, and remember what quiet actually sounds like. If you’re looking for a spa or fancy amenities, keep looking, but if you want authentic Slovakia without the tourist crowds, you’ve found it.
