You can start serious mountain walks directly from the property, which is pretty rare even in Slovakia’s mountain regions.

My room was simple but thoughtfully done — clean pine furniture, decent-sized windows that actually open (thank you!), and everything you need without unnecessary frills. The beds are comfortable enough, and honestly, after a day hiking around Roháče or exploring the nearby valleys, you’ll sleep like a rock anyway. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with good water pressure that’s sometimes hit-or-miss in smaller mountain properties.

The little restaurant downstairs serves solid Slovak mountain fare — think hearty goulash, schnitzel, and local trout when it’s available. Nothing fancy, but the portions are generous and the flavors are authentic. I actually enjoyed chatting with other guests here more than at fancier places — there’s something about the relaxed atmosphere that brings people together. The staff speaks decent English, though they’re much more animated in Slovak if you can manage a few words.
