The surrounding hills are covered in that particular shade of green you only get in Slovakia, and I mean, the air quality alone makes the trip worthwhile.

Accommodation & Comfort

The rooms are simple but thoughtfully done — sort of like what your Slovak grandmother might have if she had really good taste. Everything’s clean and comfortable, with solid wooden furniture that actually looks like it was chosen with care rather than ordered from a hotel catalog. My bathroom was compact but modern, and the bed was surprisingly good for a place this size. The Wi-Fi worked fine, which honestly wasn’t something I was taking for granted in rural Slovakia.

I had some of the best bryndzové halušky of my entire trip, and the portions are generous enough that you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. The staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re serving, and they’re happy to explain dishes if your Slovak is as limited as mine was. There’s also this cozy common area where guests tend to gather in the evenings, and I ended up having some great conversations with other travelers.
