This four-star spot has that cozy mountain lodge vibe that immediately makes you slow down and breathe deeper. The wooden exterior blends so naturally with the surrounding forest that you almost miss it — which is exactly the point.

Location & Setting

What I love about this place is how it’s positioned — you’re close enough to Liptovský Mikuláš center (maybe 10 minutes by car) but far enough out that you actually hear birds instead of traffic. The area around Pod hájikom is perfect if you’re planning to explore the Low Tatras or just want easy access to hiking trails without the touristy crowds. You know what’s nice? There’s decent parking right on-site, which isn’t always a given in these mountain locations.

The Accommodation Experience

My room had this rustic-meets-modern thing going on that actually worked — wooden beams overhead, but with proper heating and a surprisingly good shower. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and the windows frame views of the surrounding hills that make you want to just sit there with your morning coffee. The WiFi works well enough for checking messages, though you might find yourself caring less about staying connected once you settle in.

The on-site restaurant serves traditional Slovak dishes that feel authentic without being heavy-handed about it. I mean, you’re in Slovakia — you want to try the local food, right? The goulash was particularly good, and they have a decent selection of regional beers.
