The ski slopes are close enough that you can practically roll out of bed onto the pistes, and I mean that literally if you’re here in winter. During summer, the hiking trails start practically from the property, which saved me the usual hassle of driving around looking for trailheads.

The Room Experience

My room had that cozy mountain lodge vibe without feeling cramped or overly rustic. The wood-paneled walls and traditional furnishings actually felt authentic rather than themed, if you know what I mean. The bed was genuinely comfortable — sometimes these smaller places skip on mattress quality, but not here. Plus, the views from my window looked out over the surrounding hills, which honestly made my morning coffee routine something to look forward to.

The on-site restaurant serves proper Slovak mountain food, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and portions. They do a mean goulash that actually tastes like someone’s grandmother made it, not some tourist version. The staff seemed to genuinely know the area well and gave me solid recommendations for both hiking routes and local spots worth checking out.
