Chalet Zolota Pidkova & River sits right along the riverbank in Slavske, and honestly, the setting is what grabbed me first. You can hear the water flowing from the moment you step out of your car, which is surprisingly soothing after the mountain drive up here. The chalet-style building fits perfectly into the Carpathian landscape — it’s not trying too hard to be fancy, just feels right for the location.

Location & Mountain Access

What I really appreciate about this spot is how it balances being close to Slavske’s ski lifts without sitting right in the tourist chaos. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the main slopes, but far enough away that you actually get some peace in the evenings. The restaurant scene in town is pretty decent too — there’s this local place called Koliba that serves amazing borscht, and it’s an easy stroll from the hotel.

The Room

My room had this lovely view of the river and mountains beyond, which made mornings feel special even when the weather was gray. The decor leans into that mountain lodge vibe without going overboard — wooden furniture, warm colors, nothing too rustic or pretentious. I mean, the bathroom could use a small update, but everything worked perfectly, and the heating was solid (crucial during Carpathian winters, trust me).
