Walking up to Chalet Green Park, you immediately get why this place has such stellar ratings. It’s one of those perfectly positioned spots in Stará Lesná where the architecture actually complements the surrounding forest instead of fighting it. The building has this warm, alpine feel that doesn’t try too hard — honestly, it looks like it’s been sitting comfortably in these Slovak woods for decades.

Location & Setting

Here’s what I love about the location: you’re literally minutes from the High Tatras, but you’re not stuck in some remote wilderness where you need a sherpa to find coffee. Stará Lesná sits in this sweet spot where serious hikers launch their adventures, but there’s still civilization nearby. The four-star property gives you that boutique hotel vibe without the pretension you’d find in bigger resort towns.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had these large windows that frame the forest like living artwork — I mean, you wake up and there’s just green everywhere. What struck me was how they managed to keep things modern without losing that cozy mountain cabin feeling. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and there’s actually decent Wi-Fi throughout (which isn’t always a given in these more remote spots).
