Central Apartments sits right on M. R. Štefánika street in Martin, and honestly, the name couldn’t be more accurate. You’re literally in the heart of this charming Slovak town, which I actually prefer over some of the busier tourist spots. The building itself has this clean, modern look that doesn’t try too hard — you know what I mean? It’s that perfect balance between contemporary comfort and fitting into the neighborhood.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Martin — it’s one of those places where you can actually walk everywhere, and staying at these four-star apartments puts you right in the sweet spot. The main pedestrian zone is maybe a three-minute stroll, and I found myself constantly discovering little cafés and shops I hadn’t noticed before. There’s decent parking nearby too, which honestly saved me some headaches since Slovak town centers can be tricky to navigate by car.

The Apartment Experience

The apartment I stayed in was surprisingly spacious — and I mean that in the best way possible. Sometimes these city center places feel cramped, but this felt like someone actually thought about how people live. The kitchen setup is proper functional, not just some token appliance arrangement, so you can actually cook if you want to save some euros or just prefer your morning coffee a certain way. The room layout flows well, and there’s enough storage that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase.

Local Flavor

What I really appreciated was how the staff knew their stuff about Martin itself. They pointed me toward this little restaurant around the corner that I would’ve walked right past — turns out it serves some of the best bryndzové halušky in town. You’re also walking distance from the Slovak National Museum, which actually surprised me with how interesting it was. The whole area has this authentic feel because, well, it’s where locals actually go about their daily business.

Why Guests Love It

Look, with a 9.1 rating, there’s obviously something working here, and I think it comes down to the details. The Wi-Fi actually works reliably (not always a given in smaller Slovak towns), the place stays quiet despite being central, and everything just feels well-maintained. It’s not trying to be fancy or flashy — it’s just solid, comfortable accommodation in a spot that lets you experience Martin like you’re not entirely a tourist. For the price point, especially compared to what you’d pay in Bratislava or Prague, it’s honestly pretty great value.
