When I first pulled up to Casa Pricas, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical mountain guesthouse along the DN73F. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you completely. This four-star gem sits quietly in Moieciu de Jos, and once you step inside, you realize the owners have created something really special here.
Location & Mountain Views
The location is actually perfect if you’re exploring the Carpathians — you’re right in the heart of Moieciu de Jos with the Piatra Craiului mountains literally surrounding you. I mean, you wake up to these incredible limestone peaks, and it’s the kind of view that makes you grab your coffee and just stand there for a while. The DN73F connects you easily to Bran Castle (about 15 minutes away) and Râșnov, but honestly, you might find yourself just wanting to stay put and soak in the mountain atmosphere.
The Room Experience
My room was spotlessly clean with this warm, traditional Romanian mountain style that didn’t feel forced or touristy. The beds are genuinely comfortable — none of that rock-hard mattress situation you sometimes get in mountain accommodations. What really impressed me was the attention to detail: proper heating (crucial in the mountains), good water pressure, and windows that actually frame those mountain views perfectly.
Dining & Local Flavors
The restaurant here serves traditional Romanian dishes that taste like someone’s grandmother has been perfecting the recipes for decades. I had some of the best mici and papanași I’ve tried anywhere, and the staff seemed genuinely proud of what they were serving. Parking is straightforward too — no circling around looking for a spot, which is always appreciated after a long day of driving through mountain roads.
