When I first pulled up to Apartmán Sunset View in Lúčky, I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a simple residential building. But honestly, sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you — and this three-star apartment definitely falls into that category. The name isn’t just clever marketing either; you actually do get these incredible sunset views that stretch across the Slovak countryside.

Location & Getting Around

Lúčky is one of those tiny villages that most people drive through without stopping, but that’s exactly what makes staying here special. You’re about 15 minutes from Skalica proper, which means you get the peace and quiet without being completely cut off from civilization. I mean, there’s a decent grocery store in town, and the drive into Skalica for dinner or supplies is actually pretty scenic — rolling hills and farmland that changes with the seasons.

The Space Itself

What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything was set up inside. The kitchen has everything you’d actually need — not just the bare minimum that some places give you. There’s a proper coffee maker, decent knives, even a few local spices left behind (which I thought was a nice touch). The main room flows naturally between the sleeping area and a small sitting space, and those west-facing windows really do deliver on the sunset promise.

What Makes It Work

The owners clearly understand what travelers need because the little details are spot-on. Good WiFi, blackout curtains that actually block light, and — this might sound small but it matters — really comfortable pillows. There’s also parking right outside, which saves you from hunting around the village streets. The whole place feels like someone’s well-maintained weekend retreat rather than a sterile rental property.

That 9.7 rating isn’t an accident — this place just works for people who want a genuine Slovak experience without roughing it. You wake up to farm sounds instead of traffic, you can cook your own meals with ingredients from the local market, and those evening views really are something special. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day just because you’re not ready to get back to the busy world yet.
