Apartmán Slivková sits on a quiet residential street in Trenčín, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. From the outside, it looks like any other Slovak building, but step inside and you’ll find a surprisingly well-maintained three-star apartment that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel. The entrance is clean and straightforward — no fancy lobby, just practical Slovak efficiency at its best.

The Space

The room itself is what really impressed me. You get a proper living area with a small dining table, which is actually useful when you’re staying more than a night or two. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need — fridge, stovetop, basic cookware — perfect for preparing simple meals or just storing leftovers from one of Trenčín’s many good restaurants. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works and feels clean.

Location & Getting Around

Slivková street is about a 10-minute walk from Trenčín’s historic center, which puts you close enough to everything without dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. The walk to Trenčín Castle is mostly uphill (fair warning), but you’ll pass some local pubs and shops that most visitors never discover. There’s parking available, which is honestly a relief if you’re driving — finding spots in the old town can be a nightmare during summer months.

What Works Well

The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here. The place is spotless, the Wi-Fi actually works properly, and the beds are comfortable enough that I slept better here than at some fancier places I’ve tried in Slovakia. You know what I appreciated most? The windows open wide for proper ventilation — sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how many places seal you in with just air conditioning. Plus, the neighborhood stays quiet at night, so you’re not dealing with street noise or party crowds.
