Veľká Lomnica isn’t exactly a household name, but that’s the whole point. You’re about 15 minutes from the main Tatranská Lomnica resort area, which means you get the mountain access without the crowds that pile up at the bigger hotels. I mean, you can literally see the cable car station from here, but you’re tucked away enough that it actually feels peaceful. The chalet itself is perched on Na kopci street — and yes, “kopci” means hill, so they weren’t kidding about that location.

The Tatranská Lomnica ski area is close enough that you’re not spending half your morning commuting, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the early morning shuttle buses rumbling past your window. There’s parking right on-site too, which is actually a bigger deal than it sounds when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking equipment.
