The setting immediately caught my attention – you’re surrounded by rolling hills and that distinctly Romanian countryside feel that’s hard to find these days. What struck me right away was how peaceful everything felt, like you’ve stepped away from the world without actually going that far from civilization. The building itself has this welcoming, homey quality that makes you feel like you’re visiting family rather than checking into a hotel.

Location & Getting Around

Valea Drăganului isn’t exactly a household name, but that’s part of what makes Casa Morar special. You’re about 30 minutes from Cluj-Napoca, which means you can easily day-trip to the city but come back to actual quiet at night. The parking situation is fantastic – free and right on-site, which honestly saved me a lot of headache since I was driving through Romania. I mean, you don’t realize how much you appreciate easy parking until you’ve spent an hour circling city blocks looking for a spot. The location gets a perfect 10 from guests, and after staying there, I totally get why.

The Accommodation Experience

My room was larger than I expected and had this cozy, mountain lodge feel without being overly rustic. The furnishings felt thoughtful – not fancy for the sake of being fancy, but comfortable in that way that makes you want to actually spend time in the space. The views from the windows are genuinely lovely, especially in the morning when the mist hangs over the valley. You know what I appreciated most?
