Poiana Brasov is Romania’s premier ski resort, and you’re literally minutes from the main lifts and gondola stations. During summer months, those same trails turn into hiking paradise — I spent hours just wandering the mountain paths. The town center of Brasov is only about 12 kilometers away, which means you can easily pop down for dinner or sightseeing without feeling isolated up in the mountains.

The Space Itself

The penthouse room — well, it’s more like a full apartment really — completely exceeded my expectations. The views from the windows are just stunning, especially if you manage to snag one of the units facing the mountains. There’s a proper kitchen setup, which came in handy for preparing simple meals and storing leftovers from the local restaurant scene. The furnishings feel contemporary without being cold, and there’s plenty of space to spread out, which you don’t always get even at higher-end places.

Amenities and Comfort

What impressed me most was the attention to detail — heated floors in the bathroom (trust me, you’ll appreciate this during winter visits), quality linens, and actually decent Wi-Fi throughout. There’s secure parking available, which is honestly a relief given how narrow some of the mountain roads can get. Plus, the value is remarkable considering what you get compared to some of the more touristy options closer to the main ski village.
