The space has been completely transformed into something that genuinely surprised me, especially for a four-star place in Braşov.

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the heart of Braşov’s old town, but on a quieter street that doesn’t get the heavy tourist foot traffic. Poarta Schei means you’re steps away from the Black Church and Council Square, but you can actually sleep at night. I mean, you can walk to everything that matters in about five minutes, yet you’re not dealing with the noise from the main pedestrian areas that keeps you up until midnight.

The Space Itself

The room layout works really well — it’s more like a boutique apartment than a typical hotel setup. The design leans modern with some tasteful nods to the building’s history, and honestly, the attention to detail impressed me. The bathroom is properly spacious (not one of those tiny European hotel afterthoughts), and the bed is actually comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with a sore back.
