Cristian sits just outside Brașov, which means you get that peaceful village vibe without being completely cut off from everything. I mean, you’re close enough to hop over to the old town when you want some action, but far enough away that you actually hear birds instead of traffic in the morning. The area feels genuinely Romanian — not touristy at all — and the locals at the nearby shops were surprisingly friendly when I was wandering around.
