The name means “little treasure” in Polish, and you know what — it really lives up to that. The building has this charming mountain lodge feel that immediately tells you you’re somewhere special in the Tatra foothills, not just another generic hotel.

What I love about staying here is that you get all the benefits of being near Zakopane without the tourist chaos. Kościelisko is basically Zakopane’s quieter, more authentic neighbor — just a few minutes’ drive to the main attractions but worlds away from the crowds. The location on Stanisława Nędzy-Kubińca street puts you right in a residential area where you’ll see actual Polish families going about their daily lives. It’s refreshing, honestly.

The Room Experience

My room had these gorgeous mountain views that I wasn’t expecting based on the photos online. The decor strikes this nice balance between traditional Polish elements and modern comfort — wooden accents everywhere but with updated bathrooms and reliable wifi. The beds are seriously comfortable, which matters when you’ve been hiking in the Tatras all day. I mean, after trudging up mountain trails, you want a place that actually helps you recover.

Dining and Atmosphere

The on-site restaurant serves proper regional cuisine, not the touristy versions you’ll find in central Zakopane. Their oscypek (that traditional smoked sheep cheese) is the real deal, and the zurek soup actually tastes like someone’s grandmother made it. The dining room has this cozy, family-run feel even though it’s clearly a professional operation. Staff genuinely seem to care about your experience rather than just going through the motions.

Here’s the thing about Puciówka — it gives you that authentic Podhale region experience without sacrificing comfort. You’re close enough to hit Zakopane’s shops and restaurants in ten minutes, but you come home to peace and quiet. The 8.8 rating makes total sense when you actually stay here.
