Walking up to Apartament Scandinavia on Chałubińskiego Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this four-star place. The building itself is pretty understated — you’re on the first floor, nothing flashy about the entrance. But honestly, that’s kind of refreshing in Zakopane where so many places try too hard with the mountain lodge aesthetic. The moment I stepped inside though, I got it. This isn’t trying to be a traditional hotel at all.

The Scandinavian influence is obvious — clean lines, light woods, that whole minimalist thing — but it works beautifully against the backdrop of the Tatras outside your window. The kitchen is fully equipped, which I mean, if you’ve been eating out in Zakopane for a few days, you’ll appreciate having the option to make your own coffee the way you like it.

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re close enough to Krupówki that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. Chałubińskiego is one of those streets that locals actually use, so you get a better feel for how people live here. There’s a decent grocery store nearby, and honestly, the walk to the main drag gives you nice views of Giewont if you time it right.

What Makes It Work

The room setup is smart — it’s spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living on top of each other, but cozy enough that it still feels intimate. The bathroom is modern, good water pressure, and they’ve got this nice heated floor situation that’s perfect after a day of hiking. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but they’ve sorted that out for you. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together, you know?
