The building itself has this charming wooden architecture that fits perfectly with the surrounding landscape, and you can actually see the peaks from the front entrance.

Location & Mountain Access

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally on one of the main hiking trails, so if you’re an early riser like me, you can step out the door and start climbing without dealing with crowds or hunting for parking. The papal trail (that’s what Szlak Papieski means) is historic and well-marked, plus it connects to dozens of other mountain paths. You know what’s really convenient? The local bus stops right nearby, so getting into central Zakopane for dinner or shopping is actually pretty easy.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort that four-star places should nail but often don’t. The wooden beams and mountain-style furnishings made it feel authentically Polish, while the bathroom and heating were completely up to date. I mean, after a long day hiking, you really appreciate a powerful shower and reliable wifi — both of which worked flawlessly during my stay.

The breakfast spread here is honestly impressive, with local cheeses, fresh bread, and mountain honey that tastes like it came from somewhere nearby (which it probably did). Zosi herself — yes, there’s an actual Zosi — runs the place with this warm, no-nonsense approach that makes you feel like you’re staying with a friend who just happens to have really good taste in hospitality. The restaurant serves traditional Polish mountain food, and I’d actually recommend trying the oscypek cheese if you haven’t had it before.
