The resort sits perfectly positioned between the dramatic Pieniny Mountains and the shores of Czorsztyn Lake, and you can actually see the medieval castle ruins from certain spots on the property.

Here’s what I love about this place — it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well. The bike trails start practically at your doorstep, winding through some of the most scenic parts of southern Poland. During winter, the ski slopes are just minutes away, though honestly, the cross-country skiing right from the resort is where this place really shines. You know what surprised me most? How quiet Niedzica stays even during peak season, probably because most tourists rush off to Zakopane instead.

The Accommodations

My room had this perfect mountain lodge feel — not overly rustic, but with enough wood accents and local touches to remind you where you are. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern without feeling out of place. Most rooms have balconies, and if you can swing it, get one facing the lake — the morning views are worth the extra cost.
