First Impressions
When I first walked into Scandinavia Residence, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the name — it sounds a bit corporate, you know? But this four-star place on Boulevard Republicii completely surprised me. The lobby has this clean, Nordic-inspired design that actually works really well in Piatra Neamţ, and the staff greeted me like they genuinely wanted me there, not like I was interrupting their day.
Location & Getting Around
Boulevard Republicii is basically the main artery through town, which means you’re walking distance from pretty much everything that matters. The old fortress ruins are maybe a 15-minute stroll uphill, and there’s this little bakery two blocks down that locals line up at every morning — I mean, that’s always a good sign. What I really appreciated was having actual parking available, because finding a spot in Romanian city centers can be a real headache.
The Room Experience
My room had these large windows that let in tons of natural light, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected for a mid-range place. The bathroom was spotless with good water pressure — something you can’t always count on in smaller Romanian cities. There’s no kitchenette, but room service was surprisingly quick, and the air conditioning actually worked properly, which was clutch during my July visit.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The hotel restaurant serves both Romanian classics and some international dishes, though I’d recommend trying their ciorbă de burtă if you’re feeling adventurous. Breakfast was solid — fresh bread, local cheeses, decent coffee. What I liked was that they served until 10:30, so you don’t have to rush if you’re not an early riser.

Look, Scandinavia Residence isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities, but it gets the fundamentals right. The service feels personal rather than scripted, the location puts you right in the heart of things without the noise, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. For exploring Piatra Neamţ and the surrounding Ceahlău Mountains, it’s actually a pretty smart base — you’ll sleep well and wake up ready to tackle whatever adventure brought you to this corner of Moldova region.

The room is practically in the middle of the city. Payable parking can be found nearby. The bed is comfortable and the penthouse has also a small terrace overlooking the streets. What could be improved: There is no wifi and no breakfast option....
Plenty of free parking and close to supermarket. Confortable beds, nice bedrooms and fully equiped kitchen. No living room but theres a breakfast nook. What could be improved: Not verg easy to find with the adress as the doors have no numbers....
Great location, in the city center. Easy access to all tourist attractions.

It is not a classic hotel. If you are looking for a reception , security, search an another place.
