First Impressions

Hotel Belvedere sits on a quiet residential street in Brașov, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building itself has this understated elegance — not flashy, but you can tell someone put thought into maintaining it. When I walked in, the lobby felt warm and welcoming without trying too hard, which I appreciated after a long day of exploring the old town.

Location & Getting Around

You’re about a 10-minute walk from the main square, which is actually perfect. Close enough that you can easily wander over to see the Black Church or grab dinner, but far enough that you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists right outside your window. The parking situation is surprisingly good for Brașov — they have their own spots, which anyone who’s driven in Romanian city centers will tell you is a blessing.

The Room Experience

My room was on the third floor with a decent view of the surrounding neighborhood and glimpses of the mountains beyond. The space felt modern but not sterile — good lighting, comfortable bed, and a bathroom that actually had proper water pressure. I mean, it’s not enormous, but for a four-star place, everything worked exactly as it should. The air conditioning was quiet too, which mattered during those warm summer evenings.

Food & Amenities

The restaurant downstairs serves solid Romanian dishes alongside some international options. I had their ciorbă de burtă one evening, and it was honestly better than what I’d gotten at some places in the old town — and definitely more reasonably priced. Breakfast is the typical European spread, but they do it well, and the coffee is actually good. There’s also a small spa area with a sauna, which felt perfect after hiking up to the Hollywood-style Brașov sign.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about Hotel Belvedere is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a well-run, comfortable place that gives you a good base for exploring Brașov and the surrounding Carpathian region. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping guests figure out their plans, and they know the area well enough to give useful recommendations. For the price point, you’re getting solid value without any unpleasant surprises — which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want when you’re traveling.
