This four-star property doesn’t scream for attention like some hotels do, but once you step inside, you realize that’s exactly the point. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels more like walking into a well-designed home than a commercial space.

What I love about staying here is how it connects you to Târgu Jiu without overwhelming you with tourist chaos. You’re close enough to Brâncuși’s sculptures — seriously, the Endless Column is just a short walk away — but far enough from the main drag to actually get some peace. The staff seemed to know all the local spots that aren’t in guidebooks, which saved me from wandering around aimlessly looking for decent coffee.

There’s also parking on-site, which might not sound exciting, but trust me, you’ll appreciate it when you’re driving through Romanian mountain roads.
