The building itself isn’t fancy — it’s more like staying in a well-kept local apartment building, which I actually preferred to the flashy resort alternatives nearby.
Location & Getting Around
The address says “Ku stanici” and there’s a reason for that — you’re walking distance from the train station, which is brilliant if you’re planning day trips to places like Poprad or even into Poland. What I didn’t expect was how easy it made exploring the smaller villages around here. You know what’s great? You can actually walk to some decent hiking trails without needing to drive or take buses packed with tour groups.
The Space
This is a three-star place, so don’t expect marble everything, but the room was genuinely comfortable and clean. The kitchen setup worked well for making coffee in the morning and storing snacks from the local shops. I mean, after a day hiking around Skalnaté pleso, being able to just collapse somewhere that feels more like home than a hotel room was exactly what I needed.
What Makes It Work
The 9.7 rating isn’t some fluke — the owners clearly care about the details that actually matter to travelers. Hot water was consistent, wifi worked throughout the space, and there’s decent parking right there (which saves you from the nightmare of finding spots in some of the busier Tatras towns). Plus, the whole setup gives you flexibility to come and go as you please without dealing with hotel check-in times or breakfast schedules.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want a spa and room service, this isn’t your place. But if you’re actually here to explore the Tatras and want somewhere reliable to sleep that won’t break the bank, it’s pretty much perfect. The location puts you close enough to the action but far enough away that you’re not paying tourist prices for everything. I’d definitely stay here again — it’s one of those places that just works without trying too hard.
