Villa Mia Overview
First Impressions
Villa Mia sits quietly in the mountain village of Stará Lesná, and honestly, you might drive right past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s tucked away on a residential street, but that’s actually part of its charm — this four-star property feels more like staying at a well-appointed family home than a typical hotel. The building itself has that classic Central European villa aesthetic, with clean lines and mountain-friendly architecture that doesn’t try too hard to impress.
Location & Mountain Access
Here’s what I really appreciate about this spot — you’re literally at the base of the High Tatras, which means serious hiking trails are practically outside your door. Stará Lesná isn’t exactly a bustling resort town (it’s got maybe 1,500 residents), but that works in your favor if you’re here for the mountains rather than nightlife. The Tatranská Lomnica cable car is just a few minutes away, and you know what? Having that kind of access without dealing with the crowds right at the base station makes a difference.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was spacious by Slovak standards — actually generous compared to what you’ll find in Bratislava hotels for the same price. The furnishings lean traditional but not stuffy, and there’s solid attention to detail in things like the bedding quality and bathroom fixtures. Most rooms come with mountain views, which sounds standard until you’re actually looking out at those Tatra peaks in the morning light.
Dining & Practical Matters
The on-site restaurant serves hearty Slovak fare that’ll fuel your hiking adventures — think goulash, schnitzel, and surprisingly good local trout. Parking is included and plentiful, which matters more than you might think when you’re hauling hiking gear and don’t want to circle blocks looking for a spot. The staff genuinely knows the area trails and can point you toward routes that match your fitness level, something you won’t get from a generic mountain resort.
Why Guests Love It
Villa Mia works because it strikes this balance between comfort and authenticity that’s hard to find in mountain destinations. You’re not paying resort prices, but you’re getting solid four-star amenities and a location that puts you right where serious outdoor enthusiasts want to be. The 8.6 rating reflects what I experienced — it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers exactly what it promises and does it well.

Idealny domek nawet dla 7 osób. Wygodnie komfortowo i czysto. Wszystkie sprzęty potrzebne do wypoczynku. Murowany grill, zadaszona wiata, stoły na zewnątrz.
Cudowne miejsce na wypoczynek. Domek bardzo ładny, czysty, przemiły właściciel. Super miejsce wypadowe. Bardzo polecamy!
Byliśmy teraz na feriach z dziećmi, rodzina 2+3. Obiekt usytuowany blisko stoku- ok.5min jazdy samochodem, w pięknej i cichej okolicy, na prywatnym osiedlu wśród innych domków. Piękny widok na Tatry. Do dyspozycji gosci drewniana altanka z miejscem...
Ubytovanie sa nachádza v príjemnom a tichom chatovom prostredí, čiže je ideálne aj pre rodiny s deťmi. Chválime čistotu, vybavenosť,
komfort a komunikáciu s ubytovateľom.
Niedaleko do przystanki "elektriczki" - dojazd autem, bezpłatny parking przy przystanku Stara Lesna. Sympatyczny i pomocny...
