The Tatranská Lomnica cable car is literally a few minutes away, which means easy access to hiking trails and that famous observatory. You know what’s really nice though? The area still feels authentically Slovak, not overly touristy.

The Accommodations

My room had this perfect mountain lodge vibe — think warm woods, cozy textiles, and windows that frame the peaks beautifully. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern but fit the chalet aesthetic. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — quality linens, proper lighting for reading, and enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days.

Dining & Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves up solid Slovak mountain cuisine, and I actually found myself looking forward to dinner each night instead of wandering around looking for somewhere else to eat. They do excellent goulash and their trout is fresh — probably from local streams. There’s also parking right on-site, which is honestly a relief when you’re driving in the mountains and don’t want to worry about finding a spot.
