The area gets busy with Slovak families during summer weekends, but mid-week it’s surprisingly peaceful.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked perfectly. The beds are actually quite comfortable, and I loved that you could open the windows wide to let in that crisp mountain air. The bathrooms are recently renovated, which you definitely notice after staying in some of the older mountain lodges around here. What really made it work was the view — depending on which side you’re on, you’ll either see the forest or catch glimpses of the surrounding ridges.

Food and Practical Stuff

The restaurant downstairs serves hearty Slovak mountain food — think schnitzel, goulash, and really good potato dishes. Portions are generous, and after a day of hiking, that’s exactly what you want. Parking is right there at the hotel, which is honestly a relief because finding a spot in this valley during peak season can be tricky. The staff speaks decent English, though they’re much more comfortable in Slovak or Czech.
