They pointed me toward hiking trails I never would have found otherwise, including one that leads to a small chapel with views over the entire valley. There’s no formal restaurant on-site, but they arranged for me to have dinner at a neighbor’s house where I had the best bryndzové halušky (Slovak dumplings) of my trip. These are the kinds of connections you simply can’t get at chain hotels.
