Even when the festival crowds aren’t around, there’s something special about waking up here with the Tatras looming in the distance. You’re close enough to Liptovský Mikuláš (about 15 minutes) for supplies or a night out, but far enough away that you’ll actually hear birds instead of traffic.

The room I stayed in was simple but thoughtful — clean wooden furniture, decent-sized windows, and that particular kind of quiet you only get in small mountain villages. What struck me was how everything just worked properly; the shower had good pressure, the wifi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and the bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in guesthouses). They’ve got this balance down where it feels homey without being cluttered.
