The name translates to something like “Verkhovyna Waterfall Estate,” and you’ll understand why the moment you hear the sound of water flowing through the grounds. It’s not just decorative — there’s this natural spring system that the owners have woven into the design beautifully. The main building has this authentic Hutsul architecture that feels genuine, not touristy. You know what I mean? Like someone’s accomplished relatives built this as their mountain retreat and decided to share it with travelers.

Your Room Experience

Each room tells its own story, and mine had these incredible hand-carved wooden details that you just don’t see anymore. The beds are seriously comfortable — I slept better here than I had in months of travel. What really got me was the attention to small things: locally-made soaps, thick towels, and windows that actually open wide to let in that crisp mountain air. No fancy amenities you don’t need, just everything done really, really well.

The restaurant serves traditional Carpathian dishes, but — and this is important — they’re not dumbed down for tourists. I had this incredible mushroom soup made with forest mushrooms the staff had foraged themselves. The owners actually know the local farmers and hunters, so ingredients change with the seasons. Breakfast comes with homemade preserves and bread that’s still warm. It’s the kind of place where you linger over coffee and plan your hiking route for the day.

Look, if you want a pool and room service, this isn’t your spot. But if you’re after something authentic in the Ukrainian Carpathians — somewhere you can disconnect and actually experience the region rather than just pass through — this place delivers.
